What exactly is a photo capsule?
A capsule is a private shared album with a reveal time. You choose when everyone can add photos and when the photos become visible to the group.
Who can see my photos?
Only the people in your capsule, once it opens. Your photos aren’t public, and there’s no discovery feed. It’s a little space just for your group.
Can anyone open a capsule early?
No peeking, even for the person who created it. Everyone waits until the time you chose. Once you can start adding photos, the dates can’t be changed.
Can I keep the photos after the reveal?
Yes. After the album opens, you can download photos to your phone to keep them. You can also leave comments and send hearts in Fern.
Can I share a photo with a friend?
You can send a photo link to someone who is already in your capsule. The link lasts 24 hours. Only people in the capsule can open it.
Do I have to take photos in Fern?
You can take a photo in Fern or choose one you’ve already taken from your phone. Just add it between your capsule’s start time and reveal time.
What if I add the wrong photo?
You can remove your own photos for a short time after adding them. The host chooses 15 minutes (the default), 12 hours, or 24 hours before the capsule starts. That time still applies after the reveal. Copies already viewed or saved can’t be taken back.
